The Language of Recovery

  • Whatcom Museum--Lightcatcher Building 250 Flora St. Bellingham, WA USA (map)

Join me at the Whatcom Museum in Bellingham for my presentation to the North Cascades Audubon Society on the endangered marbled murrelet and The Language of Recovery. What does it mean to save a species? Who is responsible and what language do they use to describe their commitment? How do you quantify a “significant contribution” or “stabilize”? What does a recovery actually look like? This program will introduce you to the dynamic murrelet, its life history, its fate, and how we talk about our actions to save this bird from extinction. This is event is free and open to the public.

The program will tie into the themes of The Whatcom Museum’s exhibit: Endangered Species: Artists on the Frontline of Biodiversity. Please visit the museum before it closes on January 6th.
